Wildlife Crime: DRI Seizes Millions of Smuggled Peacock Feathers: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) conducted an anti-smuggling operation at Nhava Sheva Port, Maharashtra, leading to the seizure of approximately 2.8 million peacock feathers. The feathers, valued at around 2.01 crore rupees, were destined for illegal export to China and were concealed aboard a cargo ship under the guise of “coir-made doormats.

The exporter involved has been arrested and presented before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Court, subsequently remanded into judicial custody for further investigation.
